We are sad to announce that Albert Boyman passed away on Tuesday, 19th July in Kingston Hospital.
Albert was a life member of CGS and a committee member for many years, renowned for his “trips”. They ranged from day trips to many famous gardens in England to multi-day excursions farther afield; the Scilly Isles, Ireland, France, Switzerland and the Amalfi Coast. They were all researched meticulously with guides commissioned to ensure everyone had a superb time.
He was a keen allotmenter; no vegetables (to Vee’s frustration), just his love of sweet peas which he successfully exhibited in local and regional flower shows.
Recently, with poorer health he had to give up many of his activities, but remained a keen gardener to the end.
