Calling all helpers to Claygate Primary School on Thursday 7 December 2023 from 10.00 a.m.
We are delighted to have been given 400 trees to plant at Claygate Primary School by the Woodland Trust. You can read more about this on the Woodland Trust website :
Members of the Schools Arboricultural team in Surrey CC are leading the planting but have called for volunteers to help them carry out this task. We are hoping to involve as many children as possible in this exciting opportunity!
The trees are small whips so we need to make plastic collars for them to protect against damage from wildlife and the weather. Please save your 2 litre empty plastic bottles and make a collar at home following the tips in this video.
Collars can be brought into school before this date in anticipation of our Plant a Tree Day! We also welcome any donations of additional spare bottles / collars.
Please get in touch with Meryl White (CGS member and Governor at CPS) and Hilary Ali (Deputy Head at CPS) if you have any questions or if you are able to help. A DBS is not needed for this one-off event.
Many thanks
Hilary Ali and Meryl White
