FAQ: Notifications, Newsletters & Subscriptions

Hello, green thumbs! We’ve heard from some of you that our newsletters and blog updates aren’t reaching your inboxes.


We don’t want you to miss out on any gardening tips, event news, or society updates, so here’s a handy guide to help you stay connected:


Firstly, please remember we only send newsletters and emails to members, so check your membership.


You can renew or join here or check if you are an active member by logging in to the members area.


Direct emails - These are predominantly our monthly newsletters contain news for members only, reminders and early notice of events, talks and trips; membership info; depot news and requests for volunteers.


Occasionally we may email about a specific topic - membership renewals, events or talks.

They are direct mails sent to subscribed members only.


Reason you may not receive:

  1. you have not subscribed

  2. you are not an active member

  3. your subscription has been revoked manually or been automatically amended due to GDPR rules (if emails repeatedly go to spam, junk or go unread)

  4. we do not have your correct email


You can always read past newsletters in the members only area.


Blog/News items - these are publically available posts which you can subscribe to be notofied of via email. Please check your membership profile if you are not getting notifications of a blog post. Clicking on the link in the email should bring you to the post on this site or on the Spaces app.


Reason you may not receive:

  1. as above, with the additional reason below

  2. Your notification settings have been modified or changed (guidance to check these in the members only section is below) - much like changing your notifications for Facebook or similar tools


Troubleshooting actions you can take


Resubscribe to Our Newsletters: If you’ve accidentally unsubscribed or aren't receiving our emails, simply add your email address below to resubscribe. Be sure to use the email address you originally signed up with!





Check Your Spam/Junk Folder: Sometimes our emails might end up in your spam or junk folder. If you find them there, mark them as ‘Not Spam’ to ensure they arrive in your inbox in the future.


Update Your Email Preferences: To customise the types of emails you receive, log in to your account on our website.


Go to your account settings by clicking on 'My Account' and then in the left hand box on screen, scroll to the bottom and select 'settings'




Whitelist Our Email Addresses: Adding our email address to your contacts or safe sender list can help our updates bypass filters and land directly in your inbox.



Remember as a member you can always go and read past news letters on the members' only page - login via the link below, or above by clicking on 'Member's area' and scroll to the bottom of the main Members area page.
